FANDEMONIUM!: Speed Run – Super Castlevania IV (SNES)

Let’s retell this tale in a 16-bit format… and very, very quickly.

Welcome to a new installment of FANDEMONIUM!, where we celebrate the fans in VSOG fashion… by posting about them 😛

Gots another speed run for you, this time of Super Castlevania IV for the Super NES. Released in December 1991, it was basically a do-over of the first Castlevania. It’s bigger, badder, and has kickass music (then again, that’s a given, as Castlevania is known for awesome soundtracks). Simon has a couple of new tricks up his sleeve, too: he can use his whip to latch onto rings and swing to platforms that are out of reach, and he can swing his whip around clockwise or counter-clockwise to take out enemies.

Runner Josh ‘Funkdoc’ Ballard over at Speed Demos Archive makes quick work of the game, clocking in at a lil’ over 35 minutes. Nice!

More Castlevania!
