E3 2013 Mania!: Aksys Games Brings Magus; BlazBlue Chrono Phantasma

BlazBlue Chrono Phantasma

A new RPG and bringing back a fighting game favourite? I’m down with that.

A few weeks ago, Aksys Games teased us on their blog with talk of bringing some new and delicious games our way.

Well, they posted on their blog again, this time to announce the mystery games that will come over to North America at some point in the near future.

First up is an RPG called Magus. Co-developed with Black Tower Studios, you play as the titualar Magus, a mysterious man inprisonned in a Tower in the Waterfall Kingdom. He finally escapes with the help of another prisoner, Kinna, and the two set off to find out the purpose of Magus’ strange ability. What’s this ability, you ask? Magus can absorb colours. Not all colours; just the reds, greens, and purples in the area. He can then use them to unleash killer attacks.

Seems you have a plethora of different magic abilities at your disposal, and it sounds like you’ll be able to increase your strength with a particular spell the more you use it. Sounds interesting to me, particularly the absorbing of colours and using them as magic attacks. I shall bookmark the official website and keep an eye on it.

Who is the masked man known as Magus?

The other game… is one that I expected to come over here anyway: BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma. Continuing from Continuum Shift, Chrono Phantasma has 5 new characters, 2 DLC characters,  new moves and costumes for the returning cast, and a new Story Mode, among other things. And it’s coming to PlayStation 3 next year.

Well, I’m intrigued by Magus, and while I’m happy that the newest BlazBlue‘s coming over, I was still secretly hoping for a new Visual Novel. Oh well.

Anyhoo, what do you guys think? Let me know in the Comments Section!
