Ultra Street Fighter IV Hits Consoles in June 2014; PC in August [UPDATE]

Ultra Street Fighter IV

You ready for a new Street Fighter? Well, we’re getting one in June.

[UPDATE]: Well now, it seems it doesn’t matter how close the release date cuts! Joey “Mr. Wizard” Cuellar, co-founder of Evolution Champion Series, just announced that Ultra Street Fighter IV will be part of the official Evo line-up next year. Full story’s over on Shoryuken.

[ORIGINAL STORY]: The fighting game community has been discussing matters revolving around Capcom’s 4th iteration of Street Fighter IV, from the proposed changes to characters, to who the fifth mystery character is. One thing that they can stop wondering about is the release date.

Capcom Community Manager and FGC personality Peter ‘Combofiend’ Rostas announced over at Capcom-Unity that Ultra Street Fighter IV will be released digitally on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 sometime in June 2014 for $14.99. That’s cutting it a bit close for those wanting to get into it before the fighting game community’s largest event of the year, Evo, which takes place July 12 -14th. If you want the digital version of USFIV for PC, you’ll have to wait until August.

For those who prefer physical copies of their games, you can expect those to drop in August as well, for $39.99.

If you’re curious to see the upgrade in action and are unable to make it to the various location tests Capcom’s been having, Combofiend also announced that there will be an exhibition of the game during Capcom’s upcoming Capcom Cup tournament, taking place December 14th. There will also be announcements made, so maybe they’ll tell us who the fifth character is… hmmm…

How do you feel about these announcements? You planning on getting Ultra Street Fighter IV when it drops (and if so, which version)? Hit me up in the Comments Section!
