Look At That Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII Collector’s Edition

Lightning Returns - Final Fantasy XIII_Lightning

A nice collector’s edition for Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII that you can only get in one place.

… clever minx, Square Enix is.

I guess as a bid to get more people to purchase stuff directly from them, they announced a special Collector’s Edition for Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. And you can only purchase it from Square Enix’s store for $89.99.

It’s quite a nice Collection, to be honest, and it kinda looks like something I’d expect from, say, Working Designs from back in the day:

  • Collector’s box featuring box art from the Japanese release.
  • Art book (complete with dust jacket!) containing art not only from Lightning Returns, but for the other Final Fantasy XIII entries
  • A really sweet-looking Pocket Watch (… I really want that pocket watch)
  • A DLC code for the Aerith Gainsborough costume (because it’s Final Fantasy VII and fans love it)
Lightning Returns - Final Fantasy XIII CE

… Did I mention that I wanted that watch?

And in case you’re wondering, pre-ordering this from Square Enix will still net you a that Cloud Strife SOLDIER 1st class costume they announced a while back.

Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII comes out February 11, 2014 in North America and February 14 for my European peeps.

So, if this tickles your fancy, head over to Square Enix’s Store and pre-order away. Or, you can order the Standard edition from Amazon.com, Amazon.ca, or Play-Asia.

I’m still debating whether or not to plop my money down on this. The game comes out pretty close to my birthday, so I’ll have to decide beforehand. Still, it stinks that it’s only available from Square Enix and not other places — more points of purchase makes people happy, after all.

What do you guys think about this Collector’s Edition? Do you think you’ll pick this up, or stick with the Standard Edition? Let me know in the Comments Section!
