… you can buy a lot of gummi bears with that amount of money!

It was announced this morning that Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. has decided to sell off all 9,520,000 shares it had in Square Enix to the tune of 4.8 billion yen (about $47 million US) via Japanese brokerage firm SMBC Nikko Securities Inc.

The profit made from the sale will go towards Sony’s 2014 Fiscal Year Report.

Sony and Square Enix have had quite the relationship over the years, with many of the latter’s Final Fantasy games that people go crazy over being exclusive on PlayStation platforms for a number of years. That’s changed since last gen, with Square choosing to make the Final Fantasy XIII trilogy available for Xbox 360, and the announcement at last year’s E3 that Final Fantasy XV and Kingdom Hearts 3 will be available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
