I can’t get any more excited than I am now.
… *ahem* sorry about that.
… no, I’m not. SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
Okay, I’m done. I promise.
I absolutely loved Theatrhythm: Final Fantasy. It’s one of my favourite games on the Nintendo 3DS. Being able to relive some of my favourite moments in one of the most beloved RPG franchises in the world through the power of music just hits all the right nostalgia chords (pun not intended… maybe).
And now we’re getting the sequel.
Theatrhythm: Final Fantasy Curtain Call is coming out in Japan in a couple of days (the 24th, to be exact), and Square Enix announced that the game’s coming over to North America and Europe sometime this summer.
Curtain Call will have 221 songs to tap your feet to, along with 60 playable characters. The game will also feature a Versus Mode, which will pit you against your friends and other users.
There will also be a mode called “Quest Medley”, in which you can create your own adventures by stitching together any number of the available songs. These Quests can be as long or short as you want, and you can share them with others.[MINEE EDIT: Forgot to add, you can collect cards when you complete quests and win battles. You can use the cards to boost the stats for your lil’ troopers 😛 ]
Check out the adorable trailer below. Man, I can’t WAIT for this! Now, if only Square Enix brings over that sweet-looking Theatrhythm: Final Fantasy Curtain Call limited edition 3DS XL, I’d be happy (link via Joystiq).
