You’ll be able to watch all the Sony hype on a jumbo screen with 5.1 Surround Sound audio and vibrating chairs.
Welcome to the next generation of E3 pressers, where you can be in a room with other hype fans going crazy over the same announcements at the same time (or throw popcorn at corny jokes, or during sizzle reels for games ya don’t like).
Larry “Major Nelson” Hyrb from Microsoft announced a while ago that he’s planning something special for E3 (cred to GameSpot for the scoop), and Nintendo’s doing their Smash Bros. Invitational tournament. Now Sony’s doing something big by giving fans in the U.S. and Canada the opportunity to catch their announcements at a theatre near them.
All you have to do is head here and type out your postal code to find a place near you (there’s a link at the bottom of the page for Canuck locations), pick where you want to go, and get your free tickets for the June 9th extravaganza (or get on the waiting list, which seems to be the case for the Montreal location). Those who go will be able to see 30 minutes of bonus footage with behind-the-scenes exclusives and interviews with big time developers, hosted by Geoff Keighley. Live attendees will also go home with some PlayStation swag.
This sounds pretty cool, though I think I’d prefer watching from home (makes taking notes easier and such :P). Would you guys be interested in attending? Let me know what you’re thinking in the Comments Section!
