From Software‘s newest PS4 exclusive is… really, really dark.
This year’s E3 had a lot of “wow!” moments. Sony’s E3 press conference had a bunch of great games, but one that really left an impression on me was Bloodborne. That game has an eerie, dark atmosphere about it, accompanied by lots of slashing, monsters, and pants wetting. And with good reason: it’s the brainchild of Hidetaka Miyazaki, the man behind Demon’s Souls and Dark Souls.
The folks at Eurogamer got a chance to see the game in action and spoke to Miyazaki. The game is set in the city of Yharnam, a town that had a remedy for a deadly disease. People flocked to the town for this cure, but it seems like it just spread to the point where a good chunk of the citizens are infected and running amok.
There’s so much detail shown in the trailer and the screenshots of this macabre town, and you do get the feeling that this place is now a shadow of its former self.
The weapon our protagonist uses, as you can see from the trailer, can switch between a cleaver and a saw with a flick of the wrist (I bet this dude can open coconuts with ease).
Since this is from From Software, I expect this game to be balls-to-the-wall Nintendo Hard; enough to make grown adults cry like wee babies.
